Department J: Horses

Department Rules

1. All general rules and regulations for the Madison County Fair apply to this department.
   
   
2. This show is open to everyone, including 4-H and FFA exhibitors.
   
   
3. Health Requirements: A negative coggins test within 12 months is required. (Note: Coggins will be checked)
   
   
4. All judges decisions are final.
   
   
5. 4-H rules state that youth exhibitors must wear ASTM certified headgear when mounted. Headgear for adults is optional, however all exhibitors must wear headgear when showing over fences.
   
   
6. AQHA and AHSA rules apply
   
   
7. A first or second year exhibitor, with less than three blue ribbons, is a novice exhibitor.
   
   
8. High point is a Horse/Rider combination
   
   
9. Each horse/rider combination must have its own number
   
   
10. NO DOGS allowed.
    
    
11. Horse MAY NOT leave the horse show area and enter the fairgrounds
    
    
12. Entry fee is $6.00 per class.
